PrimeFlight Cargo Selected as Alaska Airlines' Cargo Handling Agent at LHR

(Sugar Land, TX – March 25, 2026) PrimeFlight Cargo, a global provider of cargo handling and support services was recently selected as Alaska Airlines’ cargo handling agent for the carrier’s daily wide-body service at LHR. Alaska will launch its daily nonstop service from Seattle (SEA) to London Heathrow (LHR) on May 21, 2026.

PrimeFlight Cargo will support the launch from day one from its X2 Unit at LHR with full-service cargo handling including acceptance, build and break services, and full airside transportation support.

“This appointment represents another important milestone in the continued growth of our Cargo Division, reflecting the increasing confidence airlines place in PrimeFlight’s operational capability, service quality, and customer-focused delivery model,” explained Sascha von Wolfersdorf, Vice President of Operations for PrimeFlight’s Europe operations. “Our Cargo operation at LHR continues to expand, supported by ongoing investment in people, equipment and infrastructure to meet the demands of our cargo customers.”

PrimeFlight Aviation Services has a longstanding relationship with Alaska Airlines, providing ground handling services at 11 airports following its acquisition of GAT, and cargo handling support at CMH, MKE, OMA, ONT, SAN, and SNA. PrimeFlight will also begin providing cargo handling services for Alaska at SMF beginning in April.

Skytanking Acquires Active Automobile Electrical

(Sugar Land, TX – May 5, 2025) Skytanking, a wholly owned subsidiary of PrimeFlight Aviation Services, Inc., has acquired Active Automobile Electrical in an asset deal this week. This acquisition continues Skytanking’s service expansion, adding GSE maintenance to its list of capabilities.

“We are excited to further diversify our service offering,” Amir Ibrahim, EVP for Skytanking, explained. “This acquisition will allow us to serve our customers with GSE maintenance services at all major airports in Australia.”

Active Automobile Electrical is an auto electrical supplier for over 80 GSE vehicles at SYD airport. They also support the regional airport network in NSW as well as providing on demand service at all other major airports in Australia.

Skytanking provides a full range of aviation services including ground handling, passenger services, cargo handling, deicing, into-plane fueling, aviation fuel storage, hydrant management, and engineering support. PrimeFlight Aviation Services, Skytanking’s parent company, is an aviation services provider with operations throughout North America, supporting its customers with a wide range of services including ground handling, cargo handling, deicing, GSE maintenance, fueling, and passenger services.

Active Automobile Electrical will continue to operate under its current brand during the integration process but will ultimately operate under the Skytanking brand.
